Overview of Vendor Programs
Each vendor can have multiple vendor programs. Vendors programs (or vendor purchase agreements) are ways that vendors can offer their customers buying incentives, usually for specific types of inventory.
Here is an example of a vendor program: Vendor A at the New York location is offering its customers a 2% discount for purchases of Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 totaling at least $5,000. A 5% discount can be taken for an order totaling at least $10,000 for the same parts. In the example, each minimum discount level is called a "limit" for the vendor program. Discounts for reaching limits can be expressed as order value, a number of units, total weight, lots, or points.
The vendor program is the base setup object for the
Procurement by Vendor feature.
Vendor programs can include multiple locations as well as multiple parts.
