Forecast Review and Approval
Forecast Review functionality provides the capability to analyze and approve a forecast before moving it to production. Use these steps to configure and use the Forecast Review functionality.
Administrative Configuration Settings
These settings should be in place for using Forecast Review:
• Set the ENABLE_FORECAST_APPROVAL global setting to True, which activates the Forecast Review feature.
• On the
Users page, on the
Action Setup tab, select the
Approve and
Make Production settings for
Forecasting.
This enables the
Approve button and the
Make Production button to be visible and enabled for use on the
Demand Summary page.
• On the
Base Setup tab of the
Users page, select the
View,
Modify, or
Approve setting for
Forecast Review. This determines the access level to the
Forecast Review page.
• When the
Make Forecast Production AutoPilot process is run, the approved forecast is moved to production. When the
Review Process is run, the recommended forecast is used instead of the production forecast, for determining the forecasting review reasons.
Functional Overview
To use the Forecast Review functionality, it is important to understand the capabilities provided on the following pages:
• On the
Demand Summary page and
Demand page, the total forecast stream is split into two forecasts; Total Production Forecast and Total Recommended Forecast. The Recommended Forecast can be changed and analyzed . Once the forecast is a desirable value, the Recommended Forecast can be made production.
• On the
Interactive Planner Worksheet, when a forecast adjustment is made and saved, the internal stream roll-up process and the forecasted data roll-up process are run. When the
Run Interactive Plan button is selected, the
Approve and
Disapprove buttons are disabled. After the user saves or cancels the changes made, the buttons are enabled.
• The
Part Forecast tab changes to
Part Production Forecast on the
Part Properties page and the
Location Forecast tab changes to
Location Production Forecast on the
Location Properties page.
• On the
Forecast Analysis page, the overrides are applied to the recommended forecast The production forecast is not changed until the approved forecast is made production.
