Maintaining the Tier Group Ramp
You need to create a ramp for any quantitative attributes in your Tier Groups. To maintain the tier group ramp, change the options on the Ramps tab of the Tier Group page. Then, click the Save button ( on the Tier Group page toolbar to save your changes.
*
To complete all calculated fields on this tab, you need to Run a Tier Group Pricing Simulation.
The following describes the settings on the page by section.
Details
• Ramp Attribute: The quantitative attribute.
• Current Slope: The slope of the line that represents the current relationship between increasing part physical attribute value and the corresponding prices for a group of parts. As the physical attribute increases, the price increases at a certain rate or slope. Calculated by the Run a Tier Group Pricing Simulation. This field is view-only and cannot be changed.
The Current Slope calculation accounts for step effects before executing the slope formula. SKUs with current price equal to zero are not included in the Current Slope calculation and, therefore, will not skew the calculation. The value of this field will be Undefined when there is a divide by zero condition.
Current Slope Calculation Method
Select one of the following options:
• Use all SKUs as input: When selected, the Run a Tier Group Pricing Simulation includes all SKUs in the tier group calculations.
• Limit input to those SKUs assigned to the baseline: When selected, the Run a Tier Group Pricing Simulation limits the input SKUs to only those that are assigned to the baseline (step levels (0)) AND where Current Price > 0. When the Tier Group dataset has steps, then sometimes this option will give better results for the slope calculation.
Target Slope Option
Select one of the following options:
• Set Target Slope = Current Slope: When selected, the Run a Tier Group Pricing Simulation first calculates the Current Slope. That value is then used for Target Slope in all downstream calculations that use the Target Slope variable.
• Allow User Override for Target Slope: Select to manually override the Target Slope value and enter the override value in the box provided.
