Run a Tier Group Pricing Simulation
Commonly referred to as Tier Group On The Fly.
Before implementing Tier Groups in Pricing Policies, you can test the pricing effects of one Tier Group by running a Tier Group Pricing simulation. The results of this simulation do not affect pricing policies; rather, the analysis is only a simulation exercise to model the Ramp and Step behavior.
The Tier Group OTF process includes a mini Synchronize Database process that ensures the following:
• The assigned segment results for a Tier Group are updated before the Tier Group is processed.
• The survey data assigned to the Tier Group is updated and not expired.
The Tier Group OTF process uses current prices as inputs. However, when you use Tier Groups in the pricing policy simulation process, the policies new recommended prices are used as inputs. This policy design allows the you to execute other pricing strategies, like market adaptive price alignment, prior to beginning the Tier Group Price alignment sub-processing.
Use these instructions to run the Tier Group OTF process to simulate pricing policy results:
1. Enter Tier Groups in the Go to box to search for the page, then select the page from the resulting list of matches.
2. Select the Policy Folder that contains the Tier Groups you want to simulate.
3. Click next to an existing Tier Group.
4. Click on the toolbar to initiate the Tier Group OTF process for the selected Tier Group. When the simulation process is finished, you can review the results on the Result tab.
