Promotional Pricing
The Promotional Pricing functionality manages the end-to-end promotions process from the request for a promotional price through the assessment of its impact, its revision, to its approval and application.
Follow these steps to use the Promotional Pricing functionality.
Enable the Feature
To use the Promotional Pricing feature, the PRC_PROMOTIONS global setting must be set to True.
*
The default setting is False.
Set the Security Rights
To access the pages associated with the Promotional Pricing functionality, the user must have view or modify rights to Promotion Folders Maintenance on the Base Rights tab of the User Rights Setup page.
Manage Promotion Folders
The promotion datasets that were defined now need to be categorized into special promotion folders. These promotion folders are categories for grouping promotion datasets and promotion policies per business requirements.
For example:
To group by location, the Atlanta promotion folder might include all the promotions/policies related to the Atlanta location.
To group by market, the Europe promotion folder might include all the promotions/policies related to the European market.
To group by product type, the Computer promotion folder might include all computer-related promotions/policies.
Manage Promotions
A promotion is assigned an effective date and end date and is assigned a set of part/location pairs.
There are two ways to create a promotion:
Use the gateway
Use the Promotions page
*
The implementation teams use the gateway to create and maintain the promotions. However, most users will utilize the Promotions page to create and maintain promotions.
Run a Simulation
The Promotion Policies page is where the analysis takes place.
After a promotion is created or modified, it needs to be processed. Click on the Promotion Policy page to run a simulation. The results are written to the Special Price Actions page.
Review and Compare Results
You can review and compare promotions analysis results from the Promotion Policy page and the Promotion Dashboard page.
The Promotion Policies page compares results based on the promotion level.
The Promotion Dashboard page compares results at SKU level.
