Changing Tier Group Settings
To change the settings for a tier group, change the options on the Tier Group page's Settings tab. Then, click the Save button ( on the Tier Group page toolbar to save your changes.
The following describes the settings on the page by section.
General
In the General section, enter/edit the following settings:
Policy Folder: The policy folder to which the tier group is assigned. The tier group process input includes the pairs in the tier group intersected with the assigned folder segments.
Currency: The currency to use for all tier group pricing calculations. Tier Group OTF process converts the price values or cost values into the selected Tier Group Currency prior to performing other down stream calculations.
When the pricing policy simulation process runs for the tier group, it also converts the new price values into the single Tier Group Currency (if needed) prior to performing other down stream calculations in tier group alignment. After all of the group alignment calculations are finished, the simulation/engine process converts the new price values back into individual SKU (location based) currencies so as to provide valid new price inputs into the next step of the simulation/engine processing. The currency sensitive results displayed on the Tier Group pages are converted and shown in the user's local preferred currency.
Baseline Calculation
In the Baseline Calculation section, enter/edit the following settings:
Baseline Price Calculation Pair Input Options: Select Use all pairs as input if you want the baseline price calculation to include all tier group pairs OR Limit input to those pairs assigned to the baseline if you want the baseline price calculation to limit the input pairs to only those that are assigned to the baseline (step levels (0)) AND where Current Price > 0. When a tier group data set has steps involved, then you may sometimes achieve more desirable results with this option.
Approximation Method: The method to be used to calculate the tier groups' Target Prices.
Baseline Calculation Method: The method to be used for calculating the Tier Group's Baseline Price Calculation. Options include: Maximum, Minimum, Average, Weighted Average, and Range.
Baseline Adjustment %: Enter a percentage amount (positive or negative) to increase or decrease the baseline pricing point. When Range is selected for Baseline Calculation Method, then the Baseline Adjustment % changes purpose and behaves like a Range Position % field where a range position value of:
0% is at the bottom of the range.
50% is in the middle of the range.
100% is at the very top of the range.
125% is over the top of the range by 25%.
Baseline Adjustment Amount: A monetary amount (positive or negative) used to increase or decrease the baseline pricing point.
Baseline Price Calculation: A reference price point or price level that is used as a starting point to execute price alignment logic and set new prices. Calculated by the Tier Group OTF process. This field is read-only and cannot be edited.
X min: The X-axis minimum value or baseline price point X-coordinate as calculated by the Tier Group OTF process. This field is read-only and cannot be edited.
Tier Group User Overrides
In the Tier Group User Overrides section check Activate Tier Group User Overrides if you want to override the Baseline Price Calculation and the X min calculation. Then, enter the override values in the Baseline Price Override box and the X min Override box.
Data Set
In the Data Set section, you select the segments that include the pairs you want to include in the tier group.
1. Click the Find button () for Segments.
*
You can also use the auto-complete search box to select segments.
