How to enable the Vendor Capacity featureHow to use Vendor Capacity
Vendors can have a limited capacity to repair or manufacture new parts, but the Order Plan process assumes that the customer can procure an unlimited amount and repair all bad material. The Vendor Capacity feature respects the vendor capacity limits to avoid logistically infeasible ordering plans, and allows you to limit the amount that can be procured or repaired from a vendor in a month and assign a priority to the vendor location, so that the highest priority location gets used first for order fulfillment.
The Vendor Capacity feature can be used to:
• Procure and repair independently
• Specify capacity per month
• Define multiple vendors in specific priority order
Once the capacity of the highest priority vendor is consumed, the next highest priority vendor is used for orders.
*
The Time-Phased ROP Order Policy must be enabled in order to use the Vendor Capacity feature.
