Global Settings — Supply Planning
A method of applying a configuration parameter at the system level. Global settings can be used to do the following:
Enable or disable features
Define limits and boundaries to sets of data
Control parameters used during processing
These are a few of the more common global settings that apply to the Supply Planning module. Contact your Technical Support representative for assistance configuring global settings in your installation of Servigistics.
ALLOW_MASS_APPROVAL_TO_CO_ORDERS 
Description
Allows a mass Approve or Disapprove by selecting All or Full for host updated orders when Order Planned is set to c and Order Status is set to o.
When set to false, the mass approval of host updated orders is not allowed.
When set to true, and the PWS_EDIT_CO_ORDERS global setting is set to true, the mass approval of host updated orders is allowed.

APPROVE_FOR_UPLOAD 
Description
Determines if the two-stage order approval process is enabled.
When set to true, there are two steps for order approval:
The first stage is the initial approval by the planner
The second stage is the final approval by another planner
When set to false, the order is approved by one planner.

Description
Modifies the sequence of background execution steps when loading data if there are more than the specified number of location records. This improves the page load performance.

ENABLE_DASHBOARD_CACHE 
Description
Enables the Refresh Planner/Part 360° AutoPilot process on the Planner 360° page.
When set to true the Refresh Planner 360° page AutoPilot process can be run. The Planner 360° page displays data from the cache until it is refreshed by using either of these methods:
Click on the toolbar of the Part Based Work Queue Summary container on the Planner 360° page to run the Refresh Planner/Part 360° AutoPilot process. This process updates the display with the most recent data for the current user.
Run the Refresh Planner/Part 360° process on the on the Manual tab of the AutoPilot page. This process builds the cache for all of the active planners where the CacheActive setting is y.

A cache setting must be enabled for this process to run successfully. Please contact Customer Support for assistance with changing the CacheActive setting.
When set to false the Planner 360° page always shows real-time data.

The Refresh Planner/Part 360° AutoPilot process on the Manual tab of the AutoPilot page is not available.

Enabling this global setting is recommended for customer with larger data sets that are experiencing response time issues on the Planner 360° page. It is not necessary for customers with smaller data sets that do not have response time issues on the Planner 360° page.
Operations such as edit and add are automatically refreshed. You do not have to run the Refresh Planner/Part 360° process when the global setting is true to refresh those types of updates.

Description
Determines if the Plan Intelligence feature is enabled on the Interactive Planner Worksheet.
When set to true, the feature is enabled.
When set to false, the feature is not enabled.

Description
Determines if the grid lines are displayed on the Order/SKU Parameters container on the Interactive Planner Worksheet.
When set to true, the grid lines are displayed.

ENABLE_LOCATION_PINNING 
Description
Determines if All locations or just the selected Location on the toolbar of the Interactive Planner Worksheet can be pinned on the Orders container.
When set to true:
Selecting All on the location selector of the Orders container and clicking pin will show orders at all locations on the Orders container. If the location selected on the toolbar of the Interactive Planner Worksheet is changed, orders for all locations remain displayed on the Orders container.
Selecting the location on the location selector of the Orders container and clicking pin will update the Orders container with all orders for the location selected on the toolbar of the Interactive Planner Worksheet. If the location selected on the toolbar of the Interactive Planner Worksheet is changed, the Orders container is updated with the orders for the selected location on the toolbar of the Interactive Planner Worksheet.
When set to false, the option to pin all locations is removed from the Orders container.

Description
Determines if Bing Maps are displayed on the Part Locator subtab on the Parts tab of the Inventory Studio page.
When set to true, the Bing Map is displayed if the license key is populated for the servigistics.bingmap.licensekey WebUI property.
When set to false, the Bing Map is not displayed.

OP_BALANCE_USE_ONHANDEXCESS 
Description
Allows a balance source SKU to consider the full Inventory Position to determine excess and is much closer to the time-phased result.
When set to true:
Order Plan will compare today’s On Hand Good to ROP and Stock Maximum, which have already added forecast over lead time but not added incoming orders over the same period, which the Time-Phased ROP Order Policy already does.
The number of balance orders that can be made will be reduced.
When set to false, Order Plan has the risk of stocking out during lead time if the incoming orders are at the end of the lead time.

OP_COUNT_SALES_RETURNS_THROUGH_HORIZON 
Description
Determines ROP planning counts for all actual sales returns through the horizon (true) or just up to return lead time, exclusive (false) in the Inventory Position.
When set to true, all sales returns are actual returns and considered as inventory, so the customer can wait to repair all returns rather than procure for them immediately.
When set to false, sales returns are considered as a representation of the return forecast over the horizon and the customer does not use the Servigistics calculated return forecast. This setting limits counting sales returns only to return lead time (exclusive), which is how long Inventory Optimization considers the return forecast when computing ROP. Use false when true does not meet your business needs.

OP_ENABLE_TIMEPHASED_REPL_CHAIN_DEFICIT 
Description
This allows the sum of a child location’s replenishment deficit to be planned at the parent.
When set to false the sum of a child location’s replenishment deficit is not planned at the parent
When set to true the sum of a child location’s replenishment deficit to be planned at the parent. The amount of replenishment deficit coming from the field location can be seen at the parent location’s drill-down.
Time-Phased replenishment deficit with child location drill-down is displayed on the Time Series Grid of the Interactive Planner Worksheet, and represents the replenishment deficit at the end of the last day of the period, called Ending Time Phased Replenishment Deficit.

Description
Determines how the Order Plan process treats order replenishment:
When set to false the replenishment source only orders for actual replenishment requests
When set to true the replenishment source also orders for the need of the replenishment children, up to the stock maximum, even though they may still be above ROP and not creating orders

OP_FORECASTED_RETURNS_STARTING_ON_DAY2 
Description
Determines whether forecasted return quantities will be considered available at the end of the day.
When set to true, the return quantities are considered available at the end of the day.
When set to false, the return quantities are not available for picking today. This setting is appropriate when bad units are returned directly to an offsite repair facility.

OP_GENERATE_ORDER_PLAN_PART_HEALTH_DATA 
Description
Determines whether the Part Health page is populated.
When set to false the Part Health page is not populated.
When set to true the Generate Order Plan AutoPilot process generates the data that populates the Part Health page.

OP_IGNORE_ORDER_DATE_IN_TRIGGERPT 
Description
Determines whether the Trigger Point and Time-Phased ROP Order Policies ignore the order date calendar or ordering as late as possible and create an order today if there is a need today.
When using Trigger Point, setting this to true is practical, to be able to see today's replenishment deficit or the replenishment order that will only be created in the future when that future order date becomes today.
When using Time-Phased ROP, setting this to false is more consistent with Time-Phased Safety Stock to only use valid order dates or order as late as possible because the future orders are generated and shown today.

OP_IGNORE_RETURN_FORECAST_UNTIL_RETURN_LT 
Description
Determines when the return forecast is considered in planning
When set to true the return forecast is not counted, but the sales return is counted until the return lead time period is reached. The prevents the double-counting of both the actual sales returns during the period and the return forecast.
•When set to false the return forecast is counted, as well as the sales return, until the return lead time period is reached. This setting should be used if you do not want to send the actual sales returns into the system and only want to use the return forecast.

Description

Description
Determines if the Effective Available Date of an order is changed from today’s date to tomorrow’s date.
When set to true, the Effective Available Date is set to tomorrow for any overdue order that calculates an Effective Available Date equal to today.
When set to false, the Effective Available Date is not altered for overdue orders.

OP_REDUCE_PARENT_NEED_BY_IP_EXCESS 
Description
Determines if excess from a child location is rolled to the parent location instead of creating a replenishment order from the parent.
When a child location has Replenishment Need to Stock Maximum be preordered by its replenishment parent today while there is still excess in the network and when the child actually reaches ROP in the future
When set to true, all excess from child locations are rolled up to the Inventory Position of the parent location to reduce orders.
When set to false, the Inventory Position of the parent location does not include excess from child locations.

Description
In conjunction with the OP_SHORTAGE_SORT_CRITERIA_1 global setting, this global setting determines the secondary method for the sorting of shortage locations when using the Balance feature.

Description
Determines if Order Plan should adjust for calendar restrictions only at top-most locations since Order Plan can handle top-most locations correctly but internal locations should use Inventory Optimization for the most accurate adjustments.
When set to true, Order Plan does the adjustment.
When set to false, Order Plan does not make the adjustment.

Description
Differentiates the closure gaps from the normally scheduled gaps in availability that Inventory Optimization was configured to cover. The field is entered in terms of days.
For example, a value of 7 assumes that Inventory Optimization is used for ordering regularly at least once a week and the lead time is extended by 7 days due to calendars. The Calendar Lead Time Adjustment is calculated as one day of forecast lead time adjustment.

Supply Planning
All SKUs that have restricted ordering less than or equal to this global setting must be adjusted in Inventory Optimization.
In regularly scheduled ordering scenarios, if ordering is restricted to at most once a week, optionally closed weekends, and the Inventory Optimization ordering period is 7, set the global setting value to 7.
If ordering is restricted to once every 2 weeks and the Inventory Optimization ordering period for all SKUs is 14 or less, set the global setting value to 14.
If ordering restrictions should be handled by Order Plan and not via Inventory Optimization configuration, set the global setting value to 0.
OP_TIME_PHASED_ROP_ENABLE 
Description
Determines if the Time-Phased ROP Order Policy is used.
When set to true:
The Time-Phased ROP Order Policy logic is enabled.
The existing Trigger Point and Time-Phased Safety Stock Order Policies are disregarded.
The Time-Phased ROP Schedule Change Suppression pages are enabled for Procurement and Repair orders.
The Time-Phased ROP Schedule Change Suppression tab is enabled on the Parameter Settings page.
The Ti]me-Phased ROP Schedule Change Suppression tab is enabled on the SKU page.
The Purchase Order Agreements and Purchase Order Requisitions pages are not available.
When set to false:
The Time-Phased ROP Order Policy logic is not used and the Trigger Point and Time-Phased Safety Stock Order Policies are in effect.

Description
Enables ordering for gaps in available dates, such as closed periods.
When set to true, the Order Plan process orders extra inventory to cover need until the next order available date. This should be enabled if using calendars.
When set to false, the Order Plan does not order extra inventory for need until the next order available date.

Description

For example:

When set to 21, 21 daily columns are displayed
After this number is reached, the columns are displayed as the first and last day of the period, through the horizon.

When set to true, the Fair Share logic prioritizes locations that are not expecting to carry a backorder (ROP is greater than or equal to Lead Time Demand) over the locations that are expected to carry a backorder (ROP is lower than Lead Time Demand).
When set to false, the Fair Share logic does not prioritize locations that are not expecting to carry a backorder.

When the RESTRICT_MANUAL_ORDER_CREATION global setting is set to true the following rules apply:
The Order Types that appear in the dropdown list reflect the ordering properties of the SKU.
For example, if a SKU can be repaired then Repair is displayed in the dropdown list. If a SKU can be procured, then Procure is displayed in the dropdown list.
The Location cannot be changed when a new order is created or an existing order is modified.

Description
The maximum number of pages of records that can be viewed on any page. It also governs if the Full option is available on the Procurement, Replenishment, and Repair pages.
When there are more records available than the value of this global setting, the Full option is visible.
When there are not more records than the value of this global setting, the Full option is not available.

Repair
For example, if the global setting is set to 25 and the number of pages is 20, then only 500 records can be viewed. If there are 700 records, then the Full option is available.
USE_TIME_PHASED_LEVELS 
Description
Controls whether the Order Planning process uses the stock levels of the current slice over the planning horizon or uses the stock levels of each individual slice
When set to false the stock level values that are computed by the Inventory Optimization process for the current slice are used for all slices
When set to true the stock level values that are computed by the Inventory Optimization process for each corresponding slice are shown in the Time Series Grid on the Interactive Planner Worksheet, and the values are used by each slice for ordering
