SKU Constraints
A SKU Constraint is a Pre-Optimization or Post-Optimization minimum or maximum level value that can be set on the Service Group. The constraints are applied to the SKU that are members of the segments that are assigned to the Service Group for a SKU.
A minimum constraint sets the lowest value allowed for the level in the segment that is assigned to a service group. The ending value can be higher, but it cannot be lower.
A maximum constraint sets the highest value allowed for the level in the segment that is assigned to a service group. The ending value can be lower, but it cannot be higher.
When using SKU Constraints, keep the following in mind:
Pre-Optimization SKU Constraints may impact other SKUs that participate in the same groups as the SKU with the constraint
Post-Optimization SKU Constraints do not impact other SKUs that participate in the same groups as the SKU with the constraint
If a minimum and a maximum value are entered, the maximum value must be greater than the minimum value
For example, you could define a SKU constraint to have a Minimum ROP of 20 for a group of parts to restrict the ROP value from going below twenty. If service targets, budget constraints, or SKU constraints are changed, scenarios will need to be recalculated to see those changes.
SKU constraints can be set on the Service Group Parameters page for the following fields:
The SKU constraints differ from service targets and budget constraints in that:
Service targets drive the performance at a group level
SKU constraints enforce the performance of segments to achieve the defined constraint
