Dimension
Dimensions are used in two ways throughout Servigistics:

Description
A qualitative component that can be grouped. Valid options for Segments are:
• Part
• Location
• Product
• Install Site
• Customer
• Contract

All Segments must have Part and Location dimensions selected. Dimensions other than Part and Location are ONLY used by Inventory Optimization, and they can ONLY be applied to Service Group Parameters and SKU Parameters in Inventory Optimization. This makes it possible to establish different target fill rates by customer and service contract, even if different customers and service contracts share the same part.
The qualitative component of a dashboard that can be grouped. For example:
• Location
• Part Family
• Part Type
