Segments Page (Fields)
The following describes the fields that appear on the page.
Field
Description
Segment Tree
A hierarchical view of the Segment Node relationships on the Segments page.
Segment Name
The unique identifier for a record.
Segment Description
A phrase or title that gives a description or meaning to an entity.
Dimension
A qualitative component that can be grouped. Valid options for Segments are:
• Part
• Location
• Product
• Install Site
• Customer
• Contract
*
All Segments must have Part and Location dimensions selected. Dimensions other than Part and Location are ONLY used by Inventory Optimization, and they can ONLY be applied to Service Group Parameters and SKU Parameters in Inventory Optimization. This makes it possible to establish different target fill rates by customer and service contract, even if different customers and service contracts share the same part.
On the Segments page, the number of Dimenions selected for the Segment is displayed.
Valid Install Base
When set to Yes, excludes a part from the segment if it is not associated with an install base record. For example, if you set target service levels by product, and a part belonged to a product but the product was not associated with a customer/contract, then the part would be excluded from the segment.
Classification
Classification for the segment by the process to which it will be applied, where selecting:
• All means that the segment will be available for all processes.
• None means that the segment will NOT be available for any processes.
• AutoPilot means that the segment will be available for the AutoPilot process.
• Security means that the segment will be available to be assigned to users.
• Parameter means that the segment will be available to be assigned to schemes.
• Copy Demand means that segments will be available to the copy demand process, which copies demand history for parts.
• Filter means that segments will be available for advanced filtering.
• Business Intelligence means the segment will be available to the Business Intelligence function.
Node Name
The name of the Segment Node to which the segment belongs.
View/Edit Coverages
The number of coverages (or conditions) that define the segment.
Click the hyperlinked value to view/change the coverages.
Derived Values in Criteria
Used for ABC Classification only. Setting to No prevents the segment coverages from containing ABC parameters. Set to Yes if you want the segment's ABC classification results to be available for segmentation.
Total SKU Count
The total number of SKUs in a segment based on the selected criteria.
*
The column is only displayed when the servigistics.show.segment.sku.count property is manually added to the WebUI properties file and set to True.
Exclude Replaced Part
An indicator for when replaced parts are included.
• When set to No, replaced parts are included in the segment
• When set to Yes, replaced parts are not included in the segment
