Creating Part Transitions
1. Enter
Part Transition in the
Go to box to search for the page. Select the page from the resulting list of matches.
3. To select the part to be replaced, do one of the following:
◦ EITHER click the
Enter part to be replaced icon

, enter the number of the part, and click
OK.
◦ OR click the
Select part to be replaced icon

and the Find Part Search page appears. Enter the criteria for the parent and click the
Find icon

. Parts matching the criteria appear in the
Search Results. Click the
Select Item icon

to select a part.
The Part Transition Properties section appears on the page. The values in this box are based on part stock but you will be able to change them in the next step.
4. Complete the settings in the Part Transition Properties section:
Transition Start Date | The start date of the part transition period - the date to begin migrating the Servigistics demand forecast to the replacement part. |
Transition End Date | The end date of the part transition period - the date when the part should normally be removed from the ASL and assume a down-chain position in a part replacement chain. |
Periodic Review | Yes indicates that an alert will be posted to the Review Board reminding you to review the transition progress at the frequency specified by the Review Period. |
Review Period | If Periodic Review is set to Yes, Review Period is the daily interval an alert will be posted. For example, if Review Period is set to 3, an alert will be posted every third day. |
5. Click the
Process Changes icon

. The results of the part transition are posted to the page.
6. To save the part transition, click the
Save icon
