Application Basics > User Preferences Page > Select Currency Page
Select Currency Page
The Select Currency page allows you to specify your default currency. It should be set to the currency that you regularly use. Once selected, the default currency is used throughout the application, unless it is changed at the page level.
Multiple currency is supported, and data integrity is preserved by using these two fields to convert and calculate currencies for display.
Field
Definition
Local Currency
The currency that is used to display all cost and pricing information. This value is set in your user preferences on the Select Currency page. If the local currency is different from the reference currency, exchange rates are used to convert the reference value to the local currency.
For example, a location in India will want to display the part's price in Rupees (the local currency for India), even though the reference price is Euros.
Reference Currency
The published cost or price. This value is stored in the Servigistics database. This currency remains intact for integrity around costs.
For example, the part sold in France for 100 euro would have a reference price of 100 euro (even if the buying company is based in the United States and is using American dollars).
