Installing Intellicus on a Windows Server
There are two methods to install Intellicus on a Windows environment. By default, Intellicus will be installed in the C:\Program Files\Intellicus directory. Use one of the following methods to install Intellicus on a Windows environment.
Installing Windows — Method 1 (For a fresh installation) 
1. Do one of the following to create an installation directory. This directory will be referred to as <INSTALL_INTELLICUS_DIR>.
a. Create an installation directory on <SERVIGISTICS_APP_SERVER> if you are installing Intellicus on the Servigistics Application Server.
b. Create an installation directory on <INTELLICUS_APP_SERVER> if you are installing Intellicus on the Intellicus Application Server.
2. Download the Intellicus installer for Windows from the PTC Support site.
3. Unzip the Intellicus installer to the <INSTALL_INTELLICUS_DIR> directory.
4. Sign in as the Servigistics administrative user.
5. Run the following command to start the Intellicus installation:
setup.exe
6. Follow the prompts of the installer and provide these answers:
Prompt

Click Next
License Agreement
Click Yes
Customer and Usage Details
Provide the following and then click Next:
User Name — Administrator
Company Name — PTC
Select Anyone who uses this computer (all users)
Installation Options
Select Express Install and click Next
Configure Ports
Provide the following and then click Next:
Intellicus Portal Port — 9000 (this is the default port)
Intellicus Report Server Port — 45450 (this is the default port)
Review the Installation Preferences
Confirm that the selections are correct and click Next
7. The Installation Progress is displayed while the installer is running. When the installation is complete the InstallShield Wizard Complete prompt is displayed. Confirm that the following options are selected and click Finish.
Start Intellicus Service
Launch Portal
8. Proceed with the installation and configuration process as outlined in the Updating the License File step.
Installing Windows — Method 2 (For upgrading an installation) 
1. Do one of the following to create an installation directory. This directory will be referred to as <INSTALL_INTELLICUS_DIR>.
a. Create an installation directory on <SERVIGISTICS_APP_SERVER> if you are installing Intellicus on the Servigistics Application Server.
b. Create an installation directory on <INTELLICUS_APP_SERVER> if you are installing Intellicus on the Intellicus Application Server.
2. Download the Intellicus installer for Windows from the PTC Support site.
3. Unzip the Intellicus installer to the <INSTALL_INTELLICUS_DIR> directory.
4. Sign in as the Servigistics administrative user.
5. Run the following command to start the Intellicus installation:
setup.exe
6. Follow the prompts of the installer and provide these answers:

Select Custom Install and click Next
Installation Location
Select the same location where the previous version of Intellicus was installed and click Next
Select Components to Install
Click Next
Configure Ports
Provide the following and click Next:
Intellicus Portal Port — 9000 (this is the default port)
Intellicus Report Server Port — 45450 (this is the default port)
Configuration Overwrite Options
Confirm that the following options are selected and click Next:
License file
Language Files
Portal Menu Configuration File
Client Config.file(ReportClientConfiguration.xml)
Configure Timeout Values
Click Next
Review the Installation Preferences
Confirm that the selections are correct and click Next
7. Do the following after the previous step completes successfully:
a. Delete the ReportClientConfiguration.xml file
b. Rename the ReportClientConfiguration_setup file to ReportClientConfiguration.xml

This file is available in the <Installed path>/Intellicus/Jakarta/webapps/Intellicus/client/config directory.
8. The Installation Progress is displayed while the installer is running. When the installation is complete the InstallShield Wizard Complete prompt is displayed. Confirm that the following options are selected and click Finish.

Launch Portal
9. Proceed with the installation and configuration process as outlined in the Updating the License File step.
