Safety Stock
The stock held in excess of the requirements to buffer for uncertainty during lead time. Calculated as
Round ((ROP - Pipeline Forecast) / Customer Order Size) * Customer Order Size
The minimum value is -1.
If the Customer Order Size is fractional the result is rounded again.
.
*
When using the Time-Phased ROP Order Policy, the Inventory Optimization process calculates the Safety Stock as ((ROP - Pipeline Forecast) / Customer Order Size) * Customer Order Size
The calculated value is displayed with 2 decimal places.
There is no floor (minimum value).
On the Time Series container of the Stocking Policy page, the Safety Stock is for the Scenario.
*
A safety stock number has a 't' as a superscript (for example, 12t) if it is a time phased override. The time phased override can be set on the Time Series tab of the Interactive Planner Worksheet.
