No Fault Found for Consumables
The No Fault Found for Consumables feature considers parts that are returned which are consumable as opposed to being repairable. For example:
• A package of parts is returned with only one piece that is unusable and the rest are good. The good pieces do not need to be repaired.
• A technician has more inventory of a part than what is required. When the unused parts are returned, those parts do not need to be repaired.
The No Fault Found for Consumables feature is used by the Forecast, Supply Planning, and Inventory Optimization calculations. Review these tips and recommendations before enabling this feature:
• The NFF Rate is not applied to the internal rolled up forecast.
• The APPLY_NFF_TO_INT_RETURN_FCST is not applicable for consumable parts. All internal consumable demand is already condemned at field locations.
• The EOQ calculations are impacted when the No Fault Found for Consumables feature is enabled.
• The Return Wash Rate and the NFF Rate are input fields.
