Last Time Buy—Workflows
There are 8 different workflows that can be used with the Last Time Buy feature.
Workflow 1: Profile Management
There are three steps involved in the profile management workflow:
1. If you are going to generate system profiles, you need to define Last Time Buy parameter sets. These parameter sets define how Last Time Buy profiles are generated by the system.
2. You need to produce Last Time Buy profiles. Profiles can be produced in one of three ways:
3. You need to review and approve the profiles produced. Approved Last Time Buy profiles are available for use in Last Time Buy forecasting.
Workflow 2: Shipment Service Factor Profile Management (optional)
If you have part shipment information for the Last Time Buy part, you can include this information in the Last Time Buy process. When part shipment information is included, the accuracy of the Last Time Buy forecast and recommendation can be increased due to the consideration of historical shipment and warranty periods/failures information.
If you want to include part shipment information, you need to create and manage a shipment service factor profile for the Last Time Buy part. The shipment service factor profile defines a shipment service factor (SSF) that indicates the activeness of a particular shipment in a time series manner.
When shipment service factor profiles are added to the LTB process, a Shipment Based Leading Indicator (SBLI) forecast is computed for the forecast and can be adjusted when the Last Time Buy forecast is generated (in Workflow 4).
Then, part shipment information is added to the Last Time Buy recommendation and can be adjusted (in Workflow 6).
Workflow 3: Last Time Buy Identification
The Last Time Buy Work Queue page lists the pairs that need a Last Time Buy forecast and recommendation.
Workflow 4: Last Time Buy Forecast Generation
Generate the Last Time Buy forecast for a SKU based on selected Last Time Buy profiles. The Last Time Buy forecast covers the time period from the End of Production to the End of Service.
Workflow 5: Last Time Buy Decay Rate Parameter Scheme Definition
Define the Last Time Buy decay rate parameter schemes to control the Actual Decay Rate calculation used in the Last Time Buy recommendation.
Workflow 6: Last Time Buy Recommendation Generation
When you generate the Last Time Buy recommendation, you use the Last Time Buy forecast values and extra parameters and inputs to calculate the summed/netted requirements.
Workflow 7: Last Time Buy Inventory Monitoring
You can monitor Last Time Buy inventory by viewing certain Review Board records that are generated from the Last Time Buy process and can be viewed on the Lifecycle tab on the Review Board.
Workflow 8: Re-enabling Last Time Buy Processes
You can re-enable last time buy processes for a specific SKU from the General tab on the Last Time Buy Recommendation page. You can also re-enable last time buy processes for multiple pairs from the Last Time Buy Work Queue page.
1. Once a SKU is re-enabled, run Last Time Buy processes from the Last Time Buy Forecast page.
2. Generate orders from the Last Time Buy Recommendation page.
