Excesses are exceptions that are generated when a part is overstocked at a location. This means that the part's stock level has exceeded
Stock Maximum multiplied by the Excess Threshold.
Excess = Stock Level > Stock Maximum * Excess Threshold
The Excess Threshold is set through a specific
AutoPilot parameters.
For example, if the Excess Threshold is set at 90%, Servigistics will declare excess when the on hand plus the on order falls above 90% of the Stock Maximum. If the threshold is set to 100%, then Servigistics will declare an excess at Stock Maximum.
Excesses are also posted when there is any inventory of a part not on that location's Authorized Stock List.
