Causal Forecast Workflow
Follow these steps to get the most out of using Causal Forecasting.
1. Set causal values. As an input to causal forecasting, you can set causal values from the Causal Value page.
2. Set part causal types. Part causal types assign weights to causal types.
3. Set failure rates/MTBF. As an input to causal forecasting you can set failure rates and/or Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) values.
4. Set product rollouts. As an input to causal forecasting, you can set product rollouts from the Product Rollout page.
5. Set product BOMs. As an input to causal forecasting, you can set product bill of material quantities and attach rates from the Causal Forecast Product BOM page.
*
Any change to a Causal Forecast Product BOM requires running the Multi-level BOM Synchronize Database AutoPilot process prior to running the Causal Forecast Detail AutoPilot process.
7. Review the causal forecast results on the Demand Summary page.
8. Review the causal forecast results on the Demand Detail page. The causal rows on the Demand page forecast failures. They describe the number of the selected part that will need to be replaced at the selected location by month.
*
Each forecast method has Best Fit Analysis rules that may make it ineligible for forecasting.
