Overview of Location Hierarchies
Location hierarchies define replenishment trees for a specific part. Location hierarchies are assigned to a part and are considered an attribute of that part. This lets users define different replenishment hierarchies by part group, for example when new products are introduced having different material flows.
To enable location hierarchies, set the ENABLE_LOCATION_HIERARCHY global setting to True.
Follow these steps to use location hierarchies:
1. Create a location hierarchy. This can be done in the interface or by using the hierarchy data download tables.
2. Assign the location hierarchy to a part. This can be done in the interface or by populating the HostReplSourceLocID field with hierarchy host ID in the IPCSDD_PART_MMASTER data download table.
