Demand Missed
The gap in quantity between the quantity requested and the quantity filled. Calculated as Σ (Quantity Requested) – Σ (Quantity Filled).
Key Points
These are the key points in relation to how the Demand Missed is calculated:
• The Demand Missed is calculated for the following:
◦ Parts not in the chain
◦ Alternate parts in the chain
◦ Top Most Parts in the chain
• Demand Missed is not calculated for Replaced parts.
• All of the demand from Replaced parts is rolled up to the parent regardless of the Roll up Demand Percent setting on the Part Chain Details in Servigistics.
For example:
• Inventory is 7 units
• 2 demands (lines) of 5 units (quantity) each in a day
• Demand Requested (quantity) is 10
• Demand Missed = 10 – 7 = 3
When Part Chain information is not available for that day, the Demand Missed is calculated at the individual SKU level. In this case,
Day’s On Hand is Today’s On Hand = OHNewOrig + OHFixedOrig – BackorderOrig – AllocatedOrig + Plan Quantity (incoming host orders expected to be available today)
