Demand Missed
The gap in quantity between the quantity requested and the quantity filled. Calculated as Σ (Quantity Requested) – Σ (Quantity Filled).
Key Points
These are the key points in relation to how the Demand Missed is calculated:
The Demand Missed is calculated for the following:
Parts not in the chain
Alternate parts in the chain
Top Most Parts in the chain
Demand Missed is not calculated for Replaced parts.
All of the demand from Replaced parts is rolled up to the parent regardless of the Roll up Demand Percent setting on the Part Chain Details in Servigistics.
For example:
Inventory is 7 units
2 demands (lines) of 5 units (quantity) each in a day
Demand Requested (quantity) is 10
Demand Missed = 10 – 7 = 3
When Part Chain information is not available for that day, the Demand Missed is calculated at the individual SKU level. In this case,
Day’s On Hand is Today’s On Hand = OHNewOrig + OHFixedOrig – BackorderOrig – AllocatedOrig + Plan Quantity (incoming host orders expected to be available today)
