Seasonal Profiles and Indices
You can create and assign a Seasonal Profile to a particular SKU stream on the Demand Detail page. The index values are calculated using at least one year of demand history but not using any demand history that is greater than 3 years.
A Single Slice Index = (Demand of that slice) / (Initial Historical Average)
Initial Historical Average = Average [Weighted Average Demand of each slice] (where the slice is either a month or a week)
• If one year of history is present, the weight is 1 for the first year
• If two years of history is present, the weights are 0.4 for the second year and 0.6 for the first year
• If three years of history is present, the weights are 0.2 for the third year, 0.3 for the second year, and 0.5 for the first year
