A user-defined way of describing the importance of a part, typically used to segment parts of like criticality, so they can be planned and processed together. For example, criticality codes could be numeric (1–10), alphanumeric (A, B, C, D), or even descriptive titles (Plastic, Aluminum, Paper, Steel)
