Need Until Next Available Date
The need over a period of time minus everything that is coming in over that period, when the next available date is greater than tomorrow.
Commonly referred to as “NuNAD” (Need until the Next Available Date)
It is calculated as follows:
(Forecast Demand + Sales Orders + Chain Relinquished + Outgoing Replenishment, Balancing & Excess Recall Orders) until the next available date - (Incoming Orders received in between)
*
NuNAD is not by order type. There is one NuNAD value that is used for all order types.
Example 1
A field location, with a forecast, is using calendars and can only receive orders on the 1st and 2nd Tuesday of the month. An order is scheduled to arrive on the 1st Tuesday, and must be considered to fill the needs until the next order is received on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The NuNAD would be calculated as everything you would need from the 1st Tuesday until the Monday prior to the 2nd Tuesday of the month minus the supply that is available during that time.
Example 2
A field location that is not using calendars, has a forecast and a lead time of 5 days, and can receive orders every day. But, because the lead time is 5 days, when the order is received, it must consider the need for the next 5 days if another order is due to arrive on day 6.
