Life Cycle Management
The Life Cycle Management feature integrates the information produced by external systems managing product life cycles with Servigistics' service part forecasting methods. Current product life cycle processes supported by Servigistics include New Product Introduction.
When a new product release is planned, service support needs to establish the service BOM, forecast for the initial parts deployment, and establish the continuing support strategy. Life Cycle Management optimizes the product life cycle by facilitating the selection of initial service parts and their deployment. It expands the data that is used in Leading Indicator forecasting.
There are other features in Servigistics that deal with the products and their BOMs, but Life Cycle Management offers much more data and monitoring in order to help make decisions or assumptions and provides the ability to monitor and measure the performance against these expectations.

Perform the following steps to use Life Cycle Management - New Product Introduction to optimize a new product introduction:
2. Establish the
service shipment plan for the new product introduction. The service shipment plan is the expected product ship/sales forecast at the highest level. The service shipment plan determines the forecast for the install base growth.
3. Calculate the
initial demand forecast for each part on the new product. When you calculate initial demand, you determine how much stock is needed for the new product introduction:
◦ To seed the forward/remote locations
◦ For corrective maintenance calls
◦ To fill other needs, such as installation, preventive maintenance or other additional needs.
4. View the
Life Cycle Management Results for the new product introduction. After calculating a lifecycle for a new product, you can view a summary of results for the new product as well as compare the new product lifecycle to other product life cycles. Comparing lifecycle measurements from product to product can produce insight into process improvements or create opportunities to improve profitability and/or service.
5. View
Life Cycle New Product Introduction Review Board records. When an part/location exception occurs during the Life Cycle Management - New Product Introduction process, it is posted as a record to the
Lifecycle tab on the Review Board.
