An event is an incident in which certain products areinvolved. Events are typically scheduled for the near future with well-known scope. Events indicate that one or more products may arrive for a specific task, like maintenance check or repair. The products could be end products or sub-assemblies. Events can be used by Servigistics to predict demand. Armed with event schedule information, demand for parts can be calculated. For example, if there are 15 airplanes that are scheduled for routine engine maintenance for the next month, you can project which parts will likely be needed for repairs.
