Network Optimization Processes
These processes are applicable to only the Forecasting, Supply Planning, and Inventory Optimization modules.
Process
Description
Geo Locate
Checks for all locations and install sites that have Is Geolocated set to No or null, and tries to get latitude and longitude coordinates. Geo Locate searches reference tables first; such as postal codes, cities, states, and countries. If, at a particular level, latitude and longitude are not stored, then the process queries Google for the information. If the Google query fails, then the process continues to the next level of granularity.
Location Matcher
Determines the distances between Install Base install sites and stocking locations and assigns the install base to the highest priority stocking location that can cover it. In the event that two or more locations of equal priority can satisfy the stocking level agreement, Location Matcher assigns it to the closest of that priority level. When the install base is not covered, according to the defined service level agreement, it is assigned to closest one.
Network Optimization
Runs the Network Optimization process using the data and parameters established on the Network Optimization page.
