Enable Alternate Transport Modes
If you want Servigistics to consider Alternate Transport Modes other than the primary transport mode the Alternate Transport Mode feature has to be enabled for the part, location, SKU, or ordering parameter.
Use these instructions to enable the Alternate Transport Mode feature.
1. Define the primary Transportation Modes.
2. Define records for one or more types of Alternate Transport Modes.
For Replenishment:
Source location to destination location use the Replenishment Transport Mode page.
Part specific from source location to destination location use the Replenishment SKU Transport Mode.
For Procurement:
Vendor location to destination location use the Vendor Location Transport Mode page.
Part specific from vendor location to destination location use the Vendor Location SKU Transport Mode page.
3. Set the Enable Alternate Transport Mode to Yes on any of these pages:
a. SKU — This is the most powerful setting. It overrides the Enable Alternate Transport Mode set at the part, location and ordering parameter level.
b. Parts — This is the second most powerful setting. It overrides the Enable Alternate Transport Mode set at the location and ordering parameter level.
c. Locations — This is the third most powerful setting. It overrides the Enable Alternate Transport Mode set at the ordering parameter level.
d. Ordering Parameters — This is the lowest setting and the first setting that is evaluated by the Order Plan process. If there is no match at this level, the Order Plan process looks at the Location, then Part, then SKU level settings.
4. Set the thresholds:
Replenishment Backorder Threshold Days
Replenishment Backorder Threshold Lead Time Multiplier
Procurement Backorder Threshold Days
Procurement Backorder Threshold Lead Time Multiplier
